Week 3 • April 15, 2020

A belated Happy Easter to you all.  I hope you are all healthy and happy and are finding things to keep you busy.  I've finished four or five jigsaws, we watching plenty of TV, doing some house projects and attempting to use things from our pantry that have been there for a while . . . mainly to avoid going shopping.  So far so good.  I think I've averaged going out about one a week.

Your assignment for this week is a little different.  I have written an arrangement of "A Place in the Choir" and have made practice tracks for it.  Your goal this week should be to learn your part.  It is mainly in three parts, but I have made four tracks to accommodate the Alto Ones when they are singing with the Alto 2s.  I'm trying to figure out a way we can successfully sing this together in the coming weeks.  I'm not sure Zoom will work, but I'll look into other options.  Any ideas?

A Place in the Choir • Practice tracks and pdf of sheet music.

I will be sending some of the theory answer keys over the next week.  If you are doing the theory, can you please let me know, as I don't want to sent it if no one is doing it.

From Kyumin . . .

Vocal Lesson:  This lady does an amazing job on how to warm up your voice.  It's 30 minutes long, and you can actually participate like a real lesson.  It is very thorough, and has a lot of information.  To give you some time to digest the info, it will be on for next week as well.

Ellis Marsalis (father of Wynton and Branford):  This jazz pianist is one of my all-time favourites.  He passed away last week due to COVID-19.  Here's a Jazz at the Lincoln Center honouring him last year.  Something different from all the vocal stuff.  Enjoy. :)
